the op is getting rank discrimminated on for not having rank, is really starting to get frustrated. im in the same boat, but i havent given up, and i wouldnt start a thread bashing all ranked ha players, because they wont take me. instead i get into pug groups with whatever build we come up with and give it a shot like that. this has been going on for a week (my first char just turned a year and i never even tried hoh), and im currently at 22 fame. i dont win alot, ive made it to hall 1 time and lost. the downside is that its really slow going and very aggrivating at times. but, the upside is that i am acually learning how to play ha. im not farming iway or bloodspike teams, but i do get into those groups if thats whats going on atm. im learning alot of builds and how skills are working together from different players(like eoe bomb, my personal favorite build), the maps, and earning genuine exp. as an ha player. i think this is the way it should be done, anyways, no matter how irritating it is to be discriminated against. i know ppl buy ranked accounts and pay to farm fame and all that, but it just aint me. i know that i am getting better, and i think i have the right attitude, too.

Its really Anets fault for having such an abysmal lack of any grouping system for HA. You really have to put in a lot of effort to get any kind of non iway groups together.

Its not Anets fault that ppl play iway you know.
And its really not hard to play something else then iway. Find yourself a guild and you will never play iway again. If you'e not ranked, no problem. There are still plenty of guilds around that recruit non ranked players. If they give you a chance, stop whining and take it.

Which guilds, the PvE ones?

Rank ≠ skill.

My unranked ViM group once beat a r6+ balanced group. Another unranked ViM group I was in once beat Wee Free Men.

I wonder why the ranked people don't like unranked people. It's a box of chocolates out there, you're bound to get something you really like. One funny thing I find about really high ranked people...the higher the rank is, the less creative they seem to be ¬¬

Once I was trying to get a PuG for arborstone. A team invited me in, and then this W/Mo with expensive looking armor (multicolor dye! can't beat that!) began spamming me "tell em let me in" So I told him to do it himself. He said that the team leader was ignoring him. I asked why, and he replied that "they dont like me cause im better than them" and proceeded to flash a rank 9 emote in my face.

I asked the team leader about the Wammo, and she said that he had been in the team, but his pompous attitude had cost them the mission right at the end. (10 minutes into the mission I err7'd again -.-)

When I completed the mission with henchmen on a different computer, I warped back and noticed that the wammo was still there.

IMO rank discrimination stems from no-life people who play guild wars all day and have to diss other players because they're insecure and need a few heads to step on to feel good.

and survivor on 3 characters, grand master cartographer on my monk and eliet skill hunter on my warrior

anyways something ive noticed is , that pvpers are better then pvers at pve

like pvpers have a basic understanding of what works and what doesnt and knows their role in the team and how they are too contribute, whereas pvers run whatever the hell they want.
i cringe when i see that Mo/R with charm animal or warriors who dont know how to tank, or something ridiculous like that.
beside the fact that pve is a joke

like the first group to beat Urgoz Warden was a pug from top pvp guilds.
and i agree with the fact that there is alot of bad ranked players, but overall pvpers > pvers @ pve.

its only because organized gameplay isn't a requirement to complete pve.

Besides, Most of the pvp players arent JUST pvp players. Alot of the effective and good teams consists of PVE made characters, so that you can take advantage of weapons and armor. For example, if against a blood spike, our infuser would switch to his health set, boosting his health to like 550-600 or something.

im 500-600 away from r9 and whenever Im on guildwars, im usually troll farming or something with my warrior to get better looking weapons.. I don't pug or anything.

It's not like anyone else had the chance back then to even visit Urgoz warren, even the Alliance members where not ALLOWED(by the alliance leaders) to go in to the elit missions untill a chosen team had beaten it.

And as far as PvE being a joke , yes it's a game, but the real joke is the PvP ppl that think they are important because of what they have done in a GAME. (Go to a job interview and tell them that you had rank 9 in GW and see where that get's you, right out the back door)
Come back when you have done something with your Life and are playing for the fun of it.

You're the type of person that i addressed in my post that has a chance and could get into PVP having come from a pve background. whereas others, should just stay pve to be honest. sounds like youre on the right track, and yes it will be slow at first, but just dont give up

In my book, a big part of "having fun" means avoiding assholes. HA is chok-full of assholes. Sure, not all people who want to play in high rank teams are jerks.....hell, I don't blame them. What I don't enjoy is the people who feel like they are holier than thou because they ground out their rank 6 months ago.

*shrug* When I said HA was not for me, I say it because the majority of people in there are not very fun to be around. I've enjoyed GvG since day 1. You just assuming that "I can't cut it in any PvP situation because I think HA is lame and pointless" is a perfect example of why I can't stand the people in HA

Well, here's my dilemma.

I'm fairly good at PvP, but with no rank under my belt, I'ts hard to get into a group for HA.... so.... you have to have rank to be accepted, and you have to play HA to get rank.... so where do you fit yourself in here?

Just food for thought, this is why guild's are an amazing thing.

a lot of ha player gained their rank 9 without iway , r-spike , lamespike(opps i mean bloodspike ;p ) , spirit spam.
